God's Plan of Salvation

The Message of the Gospel

Truth #1 - God's plan was for peace and life

He did not create us as robots, but rather as individual beings made in His image (Genesis 1:27).   He gave each of us the freedom to choose whether or not to love and obey Him or reject His love.  When He completed the act of creation, He declared that everything in the world was "very good".  This declaration included man.

Truth #2 - We are separated from God by sin

The disobedience of man led to separation from God as a result of our sin.  Romans 5:12 tells us "Therefore, just as sin entered the world though one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, becasue all sinned".  As a result of this universal sin that we all share, a great chasm exists between Holy God and sinful man.  We have tried to bridge this gap through simple religion, good works, morality, and philosophy but all these efforts have fallen short.  Romans 3:23 tells us that "all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God" and that the result of that sin is eternal separation from a God who is holy and perfect.

Truth #3 - God provided an answer to our problem

When Jesus Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice for us all and then rose again from the grave in victory over death, He provided a way for the great gulf between God and man to be bridged.  Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6.  There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation, we can never be good enough to win God's favor.  Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us "For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no man can boast".

Truth #4 - Our solution is to accept the gift of grace that He provides

We must all come to the place where we are willing to admit that we are a sinner.  We must then be willing to repent, or turn away from our sins.  "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out" (Acts 3:19).  This repentance means that you allow the Lord to change the direction of your life,  The door to forgiveness and salvation is open only through the cross.  Jesus told us "I am the gate, whoever enters through me will be saved" (John 10:9).

Your eternal life with the Lord is based upon His great promise in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gace His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life".
